unlikely Lincs first

in a poll of possible additions to the Lincs list a few years ago it was perhaps not surprising that no-one actually suggested Sora--this very rare transatlantic vagrant has never before been recorded on the East coast but an adult was found in Nottinghamshire in December 2004 and there have been odd records further east on the continent and even in Scandinavia---this first-winter bird found at Gibraltar Point on Sunday was a welcome addition to the Lincolnshire avifauna and has been performing very well in its chosen ditch in spite of the poor light today
