Velvet Scoter

well it was closer than it has been but still at 70m+ all the time so all the converters were employed; this bird is now looking much more male like than its drab first-winter appearance exhibited in December

Velvet two

just one bird though---the images although distant show the main features of this interesting first-summer bird which is moulting into summer / adult plumage

Chiffs

a good day for Chiffchaffs with birds moving through all day; a rather Siberian looking bird which failed to call also eluded the camera at Far Ings

Med Gull

I went to Scarborough to have a go at the summer plumage adult Meds---they must have been on an easter break as the only bird there in 4 hours was the second winter;

Med 2

not sure what this food item was---could it be the tail end of a pipe fish? the second item was a stone which it was playing with before dropping it on me!

dip dipper

in the beautiful morning sun the bird was absent--in the afternoon sun it was in the deep shade of the wood!

Firecrest ed Wren

in blackthorn, dull light, far too many branches and obstacles and it was hyper active and all the usual excuses but at least it was on my local patch and only 3 mins from home!

gulls realise your potential

I am on a steep learning curve with the new Mac but it seems when I get the hang of it that it may well realise the true potential of the camera's images--these are pretty close gulls but full size they look pretty good compared to some of my past images on the PC--when I get them in focus of course!
