Shoveler displays

BWP describes these pre-breeding season activities as Short, ritualized Jump-flights local birds seem to engage in these displays in January - February on nice sunny days; the explosive flight which creates a loud wing rattle is preceded by head bobbing and calling and ends in a splash down next to prospective females and other males in the feeding flock; as the birds head straight for the camera it is a good test of the Auto-focus system

Hey Graham,

Your Shoveler images would have won the Countryfile Calendar Competition the other day - no problem.
Amazing.
