foggy first

at 04:50 the skies were clear so a decision to do some photography; approaching the Humber a strange cloud seemed to hang over the estuary and as expected by the time I arrived a fog bank had dropped down; the decision had been made so I thought at least a fox or something might walk by in the mist! what I certainly did not expect at 06:29 was my first local Otter appearing out of the water -- it was only about 30m away but the fog was so thick that the camera refused to AF to my frustration; when it did I realised why as the mammal was just a shape in the gloom but at least it was a shape! ---appalling pictures but after years of only Mink this was a goody
