Shorelarks 2

from our limited experience, nests on well-drained, gravel banks with sparse vegetation often translates to nests on the sides of roads! a pair on the Varanger shore had young that were within a week of fledging while a nest on the top of the Batsfjord tundra had 5 eggs -- roadsides seem a  dangerous place to nest with adults flying back and forth across the road and even feeding on it -- spot the sitting bird in the third shot
