grey being the operative word -- why did such a great bird only perform a little better just before dark?? - the perched images were taken against the remaining brightness of the day as the bird was into the light along a track -- the darker image is Aperture priority exposure showing just how dull it was the remainder are manual -- the crescents on the underparts suggest that it is a juvenile
