Eastern Black Redstart jewel

probably cost us a Brown Shrike but a really beautiful bird; so many flies around the rocks no wonder it spent long periods doing not a lot

Rough-legged Buzzard

came from the south and passed northwards at Donna Nook today; a juvenile though quite well marked

lark must be a rare

when you look as interesting as this you really should be rarer than a Skylark but I guess we don't know where it was in the summer

Spurn walk

Black Red, 2 Shorelarks, Sanderling and Turnstone from an abortive bluetail treck to Spurn Point yesterday; the Canon 7D2 drives me mad; when it works it produces nice images but its inconsistency in the auto-focus department is just ridiculous

Hudsonian Whimbrel

these were without a doubt my favourite images from Vancouver island; the light was superb, the bird tame and approachable and the habitat nice -- I would have liked some flight shots but it simply did not fly and I wasn't going to flush it just for flight shots -- great bird another holiday trip over -- time to get planning

American Buff-bellied Pipit

the call was very like a Grey Wagtail something I had not picked up before with this species - maybe just an autumnal feature?
