Broad-billed Sandpiper

nice to see waders close up particularly when it could have been distant; Frampton Marsh today - never seen a juv would be nice -- Canon 5D3 at 1600 ISO 400 DO 2 and 2x -- I love the IQ of that camera and files are so good to work on

Curlew Sandpiper

not pristine of course but still very nice;

WeBS success LX

thought I had better take the camera along to the WeBS count this morning as the number of Dunlin and Goldies had been on the up and there is always hope -- after 2 hours of scanning the 106 Dunlin and seeing nothing they roosted in a more accessible location and an adult Little Stint and adult Curlew Sandpiper were suddenly obvious and offered close approach but the angle was poor and could not change that due to location but cracking birds and you take what you can get when they are 25 feet away!

Dunlin

typically under appreciated - the chaff we look through for something better but the infinitely variable Dunlin deserve better

juvenile Common Tern

the lone survivor from all the nests on the local patch -- presumably Otter or Mink responsible  no protection on the flat pack plastic rafts

patch Dunlin

not often we get 90 Dunlin on my patch of late as habitats are becoming over run with saltmarsh so rapidly  and they seem to avoid the open estuary mudflats for some reason
