Orange-crowned Warblers
passerines in woods were incredibly hard work, seemingly thin on the ground and always singing from the canopy or hidden in the leaves -- pishing and squeaking seemed to be useless -- Orange-crowned is by far the most abundant warbler on Vancouver island but as wood warblers go they are pretty dull almost chiffy like

a few birds from Telegraph Cove
a nice mixed flock of small birds above the cover held several Audubon's Warblers, Orange-crowned Warbler, two Yellow Warblers, Hutton's Vireo, Golden-crowned Sparrows, Savannah Sparrows and attendant Steller's Jays
