American Black Tern 2
more photos from today-- not always the easiest of birds to get close with the light right -- it looked rather tired when it first dropped in on the 17th but later in the day it was feeding well and today it was positively mobile feeding avidly over the water; I saw it cough up a pellet when perched on the adjacent ploughed field where it spent a lot of time loafing and preening; on more than one occasion it flew at least 2kms away to the south-west but eventually returned --

found a juvenile ABT at Covenham Res Lincs today after an aborted seawatch, strange what luck can do; some initial images here but a lot to sort through
