Shorelarks

the weather forecast was seriously wrong yet again; sunny spells and some cloud actually equalled 100% black cloud for 90% of the day -- one very short-lived brighter spell when the larks were close was a bonus but that was about it -- all with Canon 5D3 and 500 f4 II with 2x III

Pied Wheatear

nearly did not go for this bird though it was only about 40 miles away as the first instructions sounded as if the views would be distant -- thankfully we did go and what a cracking bird -- most shots with the 500 f4 and 2x

Wood Sandpiper

a nice fresh juvenile and one of at least 8 on this farm pond complex yesterday -- seems to be the bird of the moment presumably they have had a good breeding season
