winter thrushes

 A long walk from home looking for Waxwings but another blank day so why are they not coming with all these thrushes - about 2000 Redwings, 1500 Fieldfares and 200+ Blackbirds today -- only took the Canon RF 100-400 with the R6 for weight on a along hike - so all images with that combo

birds in a hard place

the patch of dried up sea buckthorn berries on Waters' Edge has been pulling in plenty of thrushes and other birds as well as the odd brown rat in these hard times; 5 Fieldfares, 3 Song Thrushes and 8 Blackbirds plus 4 Bullfinches and a couple of Robins were feasting yesterday --

Fieldfares in frost





well it looks as if the Waxwings have finished their feast and moved on -- amazing to see a hedge covered in berries just 2 weeks ago and now totally bereft of them -- a few winter thrushes left but not a lot -- after long debate I have just upgraded to CS6 but of course have no idea how to use it yet so these are the first conversions -- trial and error or I could read the instructions!!
