butterflies of the day
big influx of Painted Ladies (81) counted on one forest ride today plus 190 Peacocks same ride and a few Red Admirals plus a couple of Brimstones and no less than 7 Silver-washed Fritillaries -- also several Large Whites still,

amazing how this species is spreading and colonising new woods in N lincs -- saw 15 today in the forest and its 90% coniferous so not great habitat

saw my first in North lincs in 2012 but there were at least three along this ride today so hopefully colonisation is ongoing
