Spotted Sandpipers

most Nearctic waders are tame but all of the Spotted Sands I came across were as jumpy as hec and I failed to get the really nice shots I was hoping for --

one of the birds on the shore by the cottage -- need to work out just how many species I have seen from this single spot  -- these area gain large crops from the 5D4 files -- originals come out at 6720 x 4480 pixels these cropped to 1600 pixels wide which is about the image size displayed here

decided late to go and have a look at the spotty Spotted Sandpiper at Whisby -- what a smart bird and it even sang briefly on one flight -- not close enough for good photos
