Marsh Harrier a young male

Easily mistaken for a female at any distance the underwing being the most obvious feature from a long way off

a few oddments from today

Tundra Beans

there have been several local parties in the last 2 weeks but this 21 is the largest to date; they were accompanied by a single Pink-foot usually we have about 2000 Pinks and 1 Tundra! poor record shots just before the torrential rain and wind blacked things out

the mild weather in November has led to a late abundance of fungi -- very quiet bird wise

first-winter male Kestrel

A confiding bird but the light was against me as usual apart from one very short spell when the sun almost appeared for about 15 minutes -- it was only catching small insect prey and spent long periods just sitting looking for prey; most shots with Canon 1D4 and 300 2.8 II no converters
