Hobby session

getting there with the Hobbies but it took a long time for the sun to come out this afternoon

Osprey at Wyekham

 one from last week

Little Egret walking on water

Marsh Harrier with the R6

I was initially disappointed in this camera but having got a better feel for how it works I think it has real potential and the much lover 5D4 might be going!

Spoonbill action

Think I am getting the hang of the Autofocus on the R6 now and it is pretty impressive once it gets a hold of a bird or its eye

baby Tawny Owl

Sandpit Mining Bees Andrena barbilabris

came across these at Rimac yesterday  while seeing zero bird migrants -

Swifts

some images with the Canon R6 and the 400DO2 plus 1.4x converter - I have been impressed, not impressed, disillusioned, more impressed and baffled so far by this camera but today it seemed to be finding Swifts against a field pretty well and sticking on them -- finding birds against a bland sky seems more problematic but more practice needed

All ISO 2500, 1/400th second at f5.6 - run through ACR and Photoshop plus Topaz Denoise AI

Glossy Ibis

a bit better luck with the Ibis at Alkborough though they are still a small bird and 300m is a long way off

Clearly a 2cy bird with the worn brown coverts shown well when flushed by a passing farmer

Hobbies and dragons

a good hatch of Large Red Damselflies ands Four-spotted Chasers but the Hobbies were not very co-operative and then the hail and rain arrived --
