aggression in Kittiwakes

little action today to make for decent photos and most of the aggression was actually too close !

Gannets looking for something a bit different

trying to get something a little different is difficult with birds that are photographed to death every day of the spring and summer

Kittiwakes

difficult to get anything other than the standard flight shot as the birds are nearly always below you - the 2cy bird is different

Razorbill

really poor for flight shots of auks at Bampton now as the Gannets have taken over many of the upper ledges and Kitts have also ousted the Razorbills and Guillemots --- these were he only flight shots I managed all day

Gannets

nothing great today from Bempton; wrong wind direction and too much contrast most of the time

Common Tern

Swifts

yesterday was windy and cool and hence lots of Swifts around the patch -- nothing out of the ordinary though

Badger

at 19:40 I noticed a movement in a nearby meadow and was delighted to find that it was a feeding Badger -- it seemed oblivious to me and continued grubbing around in the grass but photo wise it just never showed its head! one advantage of a 4-wheel drive vehicle is crossing fields of knee high grass and eventually brock did put its head up for a few seconds to have look at me and a couple of adjacent Mallards then off it went -- in almost full daylight it was a lucky encounter
