Spoonbill recored breaker

 No so many years back we would be looking for the first Spoonbill in late May or June now its February - the times they have a changed 




Starling roost

 Big numbers roosting at Alkborough this winter with some nice murmurs last night but unfortunately the best action was late on just before they went into the reeds - video below

Little Egret

 This Little Egret with deformed, enlarged toes, has been a regular at Alkborough for several years but its impediment seems to make no difference to its health and it is clearly getting into full breeding condition again

Waters' Edge and local birds

 in the gales of yesterday I took the shelter offered by Waters' Edge on a sunny day and tried my luck with the local birds that were available -- the Blackcap has been in our garden for the last week
