the rise of the Gadwall
when I found my first pair of Gadwall in Goxhill in May 1970 it was a major event, the species was rare and seldom recorded so who could have foreseen the amazing change in status over the last 46 years where we now have winter counts of up to 200 and about 30 pairs attempt to breed.

One or two BIFs
a day messing around with camera and lens combinations -- need to be more selective -- not sure what happened to summer here today; rain and dull then cold after a promising start -- the Goldeneye is nothing startling just like the rain

you can tell its a dull day when --
you start photographing Cormorants and Gadwall -- having said that this is probably the best photo of a flying Cormorant I have --
