Terek Sandpiper so near yet

if I hadn't turned round to try and photograph the Cuckoo I would not have been 200m away when ND found this Terek Sandpiper, first for Alkborough and only the 5th county record and the first since 2014 but that's birding -- always nervous the small group of waders flew off a couple of times and returned before finally departing north towards the Humber at 07:54 -- always distant the closest encounter was when they left and flew straight over our heads

superb Terek Sandpiper at Covenham Reservoir -- looks like I somehow took 547 photos but I am guessing 500 are maybe rubbish - this was the first one I took -- best light is always early am - plenty of sorting to be done
