record shots definition -

A seawatch yesterday and the predicted strong northerlies, how do they get is so wrong so often, produced very little but 8 Bonxies and a Great Northern Diver flying north with 120 Kittiwakes south and 4 Guillemots - only a few Common Scoter and no other sea ducks or skuas - this is the Great Northern a long way out and certainly qualifying for the record shot my a--- category

patch loon

juvenile Great Northern Diver on the patch this morning -- wasn't there when I looked on Sunday and although I braved the gale and snow yesterday nothing seemed to be moving up the Humber but I guess this came in from the North Sea --
almost constant fine snow while it was showing close but then it caught the big fish and sat around digesting for a long spell

sunny Great Northern Diver

showing well is probably the correct term in this case but with about 50 anglers all around the pond edge I fear it may well end up like many inland divers with fishing line taking its deadly toll on what is supposedly a nature reserve
