local catch up

Blackcaps seem to be taking over the pits this year -- failed to count them all today but must have been 50+ males -- Sparrowhawk eyeing up our garden feeders; local and Humber Marsh Harriers, Chiffchaff, Little Egret, Shoveler, Bearded Tit and Muntjac

diving Shoveler

sort of assuming this female Shoveler on waters Edge has been injured in some way, probably shot, but it has adopted an odd feeding strategy diving constantly in the shallow water but disappearing under water for 10 - 20 seconds at a time
