Slavonian Grebe on a dull day

After a fruitless visit to the Lincs coast, sounds familiar,  called in at Covenham Res in somewhat dismal wet and dull weather but the rain eased and the Slavonian Grebe was pretty confiding though as always you are looking down on everything from the wall

Covenham Reservoir on a dismal November day

 The resident birds Slavonian Grebe, Great Northern Diver and juvenile male Velvet Scoter on a truly dull and dismal day that lacked light -- and to add to the lack of daylight the water is currently a deep slimy green and well down the banks so angles on closish birds are not at all nice but beggars

The first abstract B&W diving shot I actually found the most pleasing

a bit snowy but not very much

Two of yesterday's three Slavonian Grebes remained today but the drake Smew appeared to have moved on -- Goldeneye are up to around 70 the highest count of the winter
