Lake District birds April, Pied Flycatcher, Redstart and Marsh Tit

 A quick visit yesterday and dull but fine weather around Esthwaite and White Moss walks - no Wood Warblers back but plenty of beautiful Pied Flycatchers singing with a few Redstarts and nice to see two pairs of Marsh Tits without trying

Sedge Warbler display flights

I came pretty close to winning the British Birds Magazine bird photo of the year competition many years back with an image of a Sedge Warbler in display over a Humber reedbed and that shot took a lot more work than these with the new mirrorless AF systems making it almost a doddle - still a lot of trial and error and getting everything in the right place at the right time 














Swallows in flight

 Really testing the auto-focus of the Canon R62 with the 400DO2 and 1.4x converter in pretty poor light as that is the only time hirundines are feeding low down as a rule in a predictable area -pretty pleased with the results but a lot of arm and back ache involved











Sedge Warblers

 A good arrival east of the Bridge the last two days with 26 males counted this morning but west of the Bridge it was very poor -
