Ringed Plovers Arctic bound

Arctic bound Ringed Plovers on the Humber this morning - flock of 80 today and 107 in a different location yesterday - one bird of this flock was noticeably darker than the rest but colour tones varied markedly in the bright sun v shade

waders on the move

a local flock of 17 juvenile Sanderling at the weekend was truly exceptional but there seems to be a high percentage of juveniles in most wader flocks thus far this autumn - a selection from the last few days
