stunning Merlin

micro-dot images of an absolutely stunning adult male Merlin seen yesterday on the coast -- there are clearly far less wintering Merlins in Lincs than 30 years ago and I see relatively few now so this striking male was a sight for soar eyes as it perched on apostle's in full 70x Swaro scope views -- unfortunately an unseeing camera toter walked out and flushed it never having seen it

Hume's Leaf Warbler at Bempton RSPB

after yet another 10 miles slog on the Lincs coast yesterday for a single Siberian Lesser Whitethroat and Sib Chiffchaff decried to have a look and refresh my memory of Hume's calls at Bempton today -

this small bat, has been identified as both a Common and Nathusius Pipistrelle from the images I posted on Twitter -- it was feeding around the garden at Sea View Farm, Saltfleetby - Theddlethorpe NNR on November 9th;
