 you don't get a shot of one for months then a few chances come together

local birds today, Siskin, Sparrowhawk, Woodpigeon, Wigeon, Marsh Harrier drinking and Kestrel

 After a few months of debate I have bought the new Canon R6 mark 2 - need to write up my thought process and debating when I get a few minutes but for now these images all taken with it and the Canon 400DO2 plus 1.4x converter in very dull light - IQ seems to be up on the R6 as its got a new sensor and the auto-focus seems to be an amazing jump forward - the speeding Sparrowhawk was shot at 1000th second and was a knee jerk reaction as I picked it up late on rapid approach - lots more testing to do but for flying birds and action it seems to be a real keap forward;

Falcated Duck at Covenham reservoir

a quick trip to Covenham in pretty dire light as usual for this drake Falcated Duck -  saw the first Lincolnshire record at Kirkby Pits in February 1995 which now seems rather a long time ago - but not as long ago as the 3 drakes and 3 ducks I saw on the lake in the Summer Palace in Bejing in May 1993
