Short-eared Owl

 Nice to have a pretty obliging Short-eared Owl accessible this winter -- tried to take in some autumn habitat as well as the obligatory eye shots

 Bumped into the local Short-eared Owl that had evaded me for several days last week but only briefly 

a few more Short-eared Owl shots

hopefully if it stays we may yet get a decent evening with no rain!

Surprisingly my first of the year in what seems to have been a pretty poor winter for them locally

 Lots of Short-eared Owls breeding on the Uists this year not sure if numbers are normal or not

Bar-tailed Godwit and Short-eared Owl

 A rather enjoyable day finding a singing Siberian Chiffchaff, followed up with a cracking male Snow Bunting then finishing with a Short-eared Owl and side helpings of Peregrine, 2500 Pink-feet all day, and a plethora of waders including several juveniles Bar-tailed Godwits, Knot, Turnstones, Black-tails, Dunlin and 24 Avocets
