Avocets on the Humber

a bit more Hobby action

although the light was poor the 5D4 seemed to work rather well -- I have seen several posts where people say its not a camera for birds in action photography -- maybe depends what you call action -- all three juvs still at this site; male brought in two birds and the female was still around quite a late date for a female --

a few commoner waders

juv and adult Spotted Redshanks, adult and juv Ruff, Curlew, Redshank, Avocets and presumably  alate juv Oystercatcher

White-rumped Sandpiper in a different light

in this case a rather poor light -- never seen this bird with its bill tip not open so it maybe has a slight deformity?
