Richard's Pipit

a couple of flight shots of an elusive bird and probably much better than I expected; 1DIII and 500f4 hand held

Turnstones and a crab supper

Bar-tailed Godwit

at last a relatively approachable wader albeit by crawling through the marram; for the photo enthusiasts these are with the Canon 500 f4 and 1.4 converter and 1DIII; bubbles in the Humber ooze make it look rather like an aero bar

Osprey thinking about it

mid afternoon the juvenile Osprey really looked like he was about to go soaring up until just a speck in the bins and disappearing off to the east -- 40 minutes later he was back but did the same thing again; a precursor I thought to a final departure; then 45 minutes later back he came and landed on his usual pole before having a few fishing attempts on Water's Edge and around; maybe tomorrows northerly blast will give him further encouragement

juvenile Heron fishing from on high

searching from the top of a telegraph pole I was waiting for it to dive when something spooked it and hence the manic departure

Bar-tails

7 juvenile Bar-tails on the patch this week
