heard about this bird as we arrived in Sweden for 5 days -- it decided to linger at a site where I have been watching since 1975 and spent 7 months covering in detail up to the end of March 2011 -- thats bird finding for you -- anyway here a selection
we came across two males and two females -- the males were making the very distinctive trumpeting call heard from birds in the Uk in the 2004 - 2005 -- we contemplated that they might be migrants until one of the females picked off some twigs and flew off to do some nest building -- so Trumpeter birds do occur in central Sweden
