an adult Peregrine in post-breeding moult it has replaced the inner primaries while the outers are still old --

its often only freeze frame photos that reveal what we do not see -- this Common Tern has turned its head over completely as it dives underparts to the camera --

juvenile Marsh Harrier

not had a lot of opportunities with the juvs this year due to various factors including vegetation growing in front of hides, birds fledging in a spell of very hot weather etc -- just liked this one

local pairs have fledged 9 young this year which is better than most years --

Wood Sandpiper

a nice fresh juvenile and one of at least 8 on this farm pond complex yesterday -- seems to be the bird of the moment presumably they have had a good breeding season

Barn Owl

just sorting some pictures for my Flickr site and came across some Barn owls I had forgotten about -- quite nice some of them -- all wild birds no captives -- what is the point in that?
