A long walk from home looking for Waxwings but another blank day so why are they not coming with all these thrushes - about 2000 Redwings, 1500 Fieldfares and 200+ Blackbirds today -- only took the Canon RF 100-400 with the R6 for weight on a along hike - so all images with that combo
I am partial to winter Reed Buntings, always something different about each one and they tend to be quite tame as well - still never found a rare bunting in Britain

Finally had a Waxwing on the local patch on Friday but after a week of dismal greyness it appeared in high tree tops against the sun, yep sun for a change - nothing I could do about location, in a private garden and it was flycatching for a couple of minutes before a low flying helicopter times its passage impeccably and flushed it never to be seen again - certainly hope to get some better chances later this winter -- herewith some terrible records
