we have been very fortunate loclaly with a lack of Mink in our clay pits but today I came across two together hunting Water Voles in one of the pits--this vole was sat on top of the water weed freezing presumably to avoid detection
over the last three days there have been at least 20 Med Gulls on my local patch, 15 today alone and more birds over the last two weeks--unprecedented numbers----three different adults seen here----
as a change from gulls and terns had a go at our juvenile Marsh Harriers just getting on the wing--always good to see that local nests have fledged young
this adult Mediterranean Gull was on Waters' Edge this afternoon---one of the 15+ birds seen around the pits complex in the last 2 weeks, an unprecedented number
