juvenile / first-winter Caspian Gull 2

Caspian Gull part 1

came across a beautiful juvenile Caspian Gull at Walberswick / Southwold on the 17th; for a change it was not a case of a 500mm lens with 2x converter to produce a highly cropped image but I was able to get the images with the straight 300mm lens and in some instances it was too big to get in the frame a very nice change; second batch mainly flight images

Graylings

the Suffolk heaths are a great place for this butterfly and there were a lot displaying in the hot sunny weather; I had never seen the females settle with the wings open before but this is part of the display although it does not last long and its difficult to get onto them before they fly up again with the males;
