juvenile Red-footed Falcon
well it was an amazing experience catching up with my most wanted raptor (plumage) this morning at Kilnsea -- after last nights report managed to pick it up on the wires at about 07:00 -- it was inevitably not close and for the 1DX even with the 500 and 2x it was record shots but I just do not trust the AF on the 7D2 and the noise in tis mornings dull light would have been hopeless- views through the scope were stunning but still hankering after one of those approachable juvs like they get in Finland, Netherlands etc! compare with small record shots with the juv Hobbies in previous posts -- in a British context juveniles are incredibly rare but how many get overlooked ?

a juvenile September 13th and 27th 2013 -- and a juvenile killed by a car September 19th 2014 -- when the person who hit it handed me this dying bird I had to look several times at its head pattern and then get out some good references

a lingering bird taken on October 4th 2012 -- feeding on Common Darters and regularly resting on this brown field between bouts of hawking
