well what went wrong here? public hides have slots which are too narrow for big lenses and you cannot move the lens around quickly enough to keep up with fast moving birds without knocking the lens to bits and of course in line with the day's events I had the wrong (2x) converter on as well; and this was the only action in 2 hours!
