the upper and lower shots are of a bird I thought at the time was an adult but looking up the plumage it appears to be in first-adult plumage with a mix of juvenile body feathers and pale iris but more adult underwings; it was sitting in the field watching the feeding juvenile but was clearly intimidated by that bird which was a large female -- the other shots are the fresh juvenile
