flying Dems -- you never know unless you try

not the easiest of subjects over a dark river with very mobile territory holding males but if you don't try you don't get anything different -- Canon 1D4 and Canon 300 2.8 lens

Common Tern theme continued

a new location and different aged juveniles -- the sun had gone but I think the light was quite nice and different

Banded Demoiselle standards

all the males were the other side of the stream so it was boots off, trousers zipped off and wading out amongst them across the rive -- nice and cool on a hot day

juvenile Yellow-legged Gull

just one juvenile and one adult from what I could see

Caspian Gull

a 2cy bird was the only Caspian I could find today but it was a nice distinctive bird -- the gulls were distant and into the light with heat haze and 2x on the 500mm lens so I suppose getting anything identifiable was a success

Brown Hare

it just sat by the side of the car for a few seconds no possibility for composure

waders Horseshoe Point

Bar-tailed Godwits and Knot, Oystercatchers, Dunlin and Whimbrel heading south-west at a great height -- roosting Bar-tails and Knot
