an interesting paper in British Birds on plumage variation in Marsh Harriers -- not sure I agree with it all but maybe needs some further reading -- one of the basic questions seems to be what age they class as an adult male ? here our local juv now a 2cy with typical tail damage -- the 3cy male seems to have moved on and no sign of regular adults as yet but today is truly chilly! all these with Canon 300 2.8 and Canon 2x III converter on 1D4,
