some days start out well and go down hill and others like today start out duff and get better--first I failed to relocate the Nightjar nest found 10 days ago then there were very few dragons about as virtually all the water had evaporated from the forest ponds---mid morning a Southern Hawker appeared and then good numbers of Black Darters over a very small remnant puddle--while photographing them a Nightjar started to sing at 11:30 in the morning! it was in such an obvious position (all things are relative!) that I found it without too much trouble then picked up a female nearby on a nest--4 birds in the daytime in one season amazing!
