juvenile Little Stint

juvenile waders have the most amazing plumage and I had been trying to get close to a Little Stint without success for a few years -- finding this one with the wader flock I spent most of the afternoon with it -- initially flighty it became much tamer but was usually in tall salicornia and even when close I could only see bits of it then early evening it separated from the flock and fed on shorter vegetation -- kneeling in the mud and soft sand it eventually came pretty close --getting flight shots of waders is never easy so I was pretty pleased with the one decent one of this diminutive peep

Absolutely gorgeous. The second one looks like it's standing on it's tip-toes! Stunning shots!
