best time of year for finding Willow Tits and confirming territories; this pair are busy excavating a nest hole in a birch stump a fairly typical site in the forest -- they seem to be still doing quite well in some areas in North Lincs
Hi Graham, sorry this a bit late ( 7 years!) but I'd be interested to know the height of the nest hole in the birch stump. Im trying to encourage Willow tits in my local patch by erecting partly rotten stumps. All the tips I've looked up advise 1- 2 Mir length s of timber, ie they prefer to nest quite low down. Any advice would be welcome.
