John The only thing shopped was the spiky twig the feet are just as they were; the more I look at bird photos I see images that have ben manipulated to make them just too perfect but is this what people like to see, most general viewers will never know, or is it what photographers think people want to see or is it dictated by book and magazine editors?

Yes, the foot position gives this one away... but a lot of photographers are not so scrupulous !

I wouldn't have known Graham, but I don't think you need to bother with the editing - the shot, with the singing - is brilliant regardless.
The only thing I don't put up with in pictures that I take are power lines and pylons! Can't be doing with them.
