first week in Cyprus since 2008 and what a difference in birds -- migrants virtually nil. literally just one Tawny Pipit, 2 Short-toed Larks, 2 Woodchats and not a single non resident sylvias in about 45 miles of walking coastal headlands; it was though hot and sunny and a lot of time was necessarily spent eating and drinking; three species saved the trip photo wise but only about 2-3 hours of the day produced any decent light with the heat haze at 33C making everything wobble -- Eleonora's Falcons were amazing in display, Montagu's Harriers were brilliant and close and 2 male Greater Sand Plovers were a delight -- this one an early shot with the 7D2 - still uploading far too many images of rubbish!
