beautiful evenings for Nightjars usually mean a lot of bites and yesterday was no exception; this pair of Long-eared Owls only seemed to have one fledged youngster still creaking -the Blackbird found the owl a long time before I did- - it was taken in the near dark at 22:34 at 16,000 ISO on the Canon 5D4 with the 400 DO2 hand held -- the Nightjars were very active

a few Bempton seabirds
on the day of the gale -- not exactly a successful day -- activity levels seemed low and so many of the Kitts looked scrawny necked - are they actually starving?
