local juv harrier

evenings have been poor of late weather wise but flat light can be just as appealing as low sun on dark birds -- upper bird 2 weeks younger than lower three shots; notice how quickly the ginger crown fades

Stunning shots Graham, simply gorgeous. And you're so right about flat light – we're all guilty of sometimes craving bright sunshine, but gentler light can often do so much more for true colours and tone, with fabulous atmosphere. Great images.

Amazing, especially the second one with the turning pose. Simply beautiful against the tall grass.
