the three remaining chicks growing rapidly but standing a good chance of being killed in skirmishes between the two sets of adults one of the 3 has disappeared but the single wandering minstrel continues to surivive in spite of long, long walks away from its parents-- how this species managed to prosper is anyone's guess as they seem self-destructive when breeding and of course they are the last thing you need on a wader scrape-- one of these adults flew 90m to attack a roosting flock of 300 Black-tailed Godwits and flushed the lot!
