up to 35 female Pochard summer on the clay pits but this year has been poor with <20 females and so far I have found just 7 broods most of which have been of 1 or 2 ducklings even when small so these two almost fledged birds are exceptional -- the eclipse drake is one of up to 70 birds around the pits where there are also 120 Tufted Ducks
