Marsh Harrier food pass
it seems that the male brings in smaller prey items as the juveniles become more confident in catching the prey in flight possibly to test their ability; a certain amount does get dropped when they are starting the action but these young have only been flying for 10 days and can now catch really small items like this one with ease; the females have often left to go and complete their moult by this stage so the male brings in virtually all the food -- I enjoy watching the juveniles in grassland as they constantly hop up and down as if they are standing on hot coals -- maybe the soles of their toes are hyper-sensitive and that is how they grasp prey with lightening reactions?
